Coming Soon: Another Post on OpenERP Touchscreen POS
So I have received quite a bit of attention regarding my post a couple months ago regarding the OpenERP Touchscreen POS System which is currently in Develoment. Good news - there is much more to talk about here!
I don't have time to prepare it just yet, but I will be putting together a post shortly explaining how to build, deploy and configure the latest and greatest in OpenERP POS Touchscreen awesomeness.
New OpenERP Web Trunk on Launchpad
It is very much worth noting that the OpenERP team has moved over to a new Launchpad Repo for all development past 6.0.1. Yes thats right - OpenERP Web Client 6.0.2 is going to be an entirely different ballgame. Included in the package are some truly jaw dropping developents using JSON, AJAX and other niceties. I have even noticed a user configurable dashboard!
Ok, I'll cut to the chase.
New Repos are found here:
New POS, I'm assuming stable (certainly seems so), is packaged up here:
And of course, the development branch (trunk) of the POS is here:
If you want to get your hands dirty, just deploy one of the openerp-web branches for the POS Touchscreen system just like you would any other version of openerp-web client. It is likely that all the python library dependencies are the same (haven't run into any issues here).
Sometime in the next month I will be providing a walkthrough on deploying openerp-web POS, and hopefully also a way of deploying the POS module on an existing OpenERP web instance.
